About Bikram Yoga poses
Bikram Yoga poses are part of Hot Yoga workout routine which is performed in heated Yoga studio. There are 26 different poses you can practice in Bikram Yoga. This exercise program was developed by Birkam Choudhury who is a controversial figure in the Yoga world due to his numerous trademark disputes with a number of Yoga studios. Although Bikram Yoga is sometimes referred to as Hot Yoga, not all Hot Yoga routines are Bikram Yoga routines. Vinyasa Yoga is sometimes also performed in heated studio and therefore considered to be a Hot Yoga routine.
Bikram Yoga Poses – Basic instructions
1. You will be sweating a lot so you need to make sure you will stay hydrated at all times. Always bring your own bottle to the class and make sure you drink enough water after the class.
2. Because of the increased sweating, it is more hygienic if you bring your own mat.
3. Bikram Yoga is not recommended for pregnant women because it increases the temperature of your body’s core.
4. Your feet and hands will get slippery, so consider taking a small towel with you – the best ones are specially designed for Yoga workout and have anti-slippery side which gives you more stability.
